Could it be that, like The Pirate Bay (who managed to have half of the charges dropped on day 2 of the spectrial), we too have had our first victory within 24 hours?
You'll recall that our first mission was to Reverse the Google AdWords "netbook" ban and that we had already submitted AdWords Ads earlier today. Well it seems that (for us at least) the ban has been lifted!
See for yourself... it only takes 60 seconds:
So there you have it... normally you would have been stopped at the half way point (exactly 30 seconds) but we can now breeze through and create active campaigns in the USA no questions asked with the term 'netbook' in the ad text, the URL and even the keywords themselves!
Would love to see these popping up first hand it's kinda hard to test from here. The long arm of Psion's trademarks doesn't reach this far so the netbook ads are still running fast and furious:
Ok so it's not a complete victory in that the ban likely still applies to others but it's definitely a good start. It all seems a bit too easy - if we'd have known this was all it would take we might not have put so much effort into the campaign. Unfortunately we don't have unlimited funds to educate all those millions of netbook users via AdWords but we may accept some donations for advertising later on.
Anyway no point resting on our laurels - if you liked this mission then you're sure to love the next one...
